O’Neil, 43, came in to replace Liam Rosenior, who joined sister club Chelsea in January, but decided to jump ship and become Ipswich boss just six months later.
After weeks of searching, Strasbourg have now confirmed Oliveira, 47, as their new head coach as we approach the 2026-27 season.
Oliveira had spent all of his short managerial career with Portuguese side Famalicao before making the move, guiding them to a fifth-place finish in 2025-26.
Speaking to Strasbourg’s website, Oliveira said: “It’s an honor to be here in Strasbourg and to join such a wonderful project, where history and ambition are perfectly intertwined.
“I want to bring excitement, create lasting memories, and give my all to help the club continue to grow. Let’s go!”
