The FA Cup winners have been demoted to the Europa Conference League due to shareholder John Textor also owning fellow qualifiers Lyon. Lyon earn their place ahead of Palace because finished higher on the Ligue 1 table.
Palace have announced they're taking the matter to the Court of Arbitration in Sport, with Textor having now sold his stake to Woody Johnson, though not before a deadline set by UEFA.
However, past emails suggest UEFA do not hold to hard deadlines, says the Telegraph, so offering the Eagles some hope of the governing body softening their stance.
For the moment, Palace are set to swap places with Nottingham Forest, which qualified for the Europa Conference League last season. But things could yet change with Palace fighting their case now on several fronts.
