The 22-year-old has been a part of Benfica’s first team since 2022 but has somewhat fallen down the pecking order.
Under Jose Mourinho, Silva started just 20 of his 25 Liga Portugal games last season, with Nicolas Otamendi and Tomas Araujo providing stiff competition.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Bournemouth are in talks with the defender and a move is expected to be completed soon.
Silva decided against signing a new deal with Benfica in order to pursue a move away, and Bournemouth see him as their perfect Marcos Senesi successor.
It’s understood the deal will be worth a fee of around £21.3 million for the youngster with just one-year left on his Benfica contract.
