Real Madrid’s season has descended into complete chaos, with the dressing room arguably the most toxic around.
Valverde, 27, and Tchouameni, 26 had a heated argument on Wednesday (May 6) following a tackle made by the Uruguay international on the Frenchman, according to reports from Spain.
The two players took it a step further on Thursday, coming to blows, with Valverde being rushed to hospital with a head injury.
Real Madrid have now released a statement confirmed that Valverde has been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury.
“Following tests carried out today on our player Fede Valverde by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury.” the statement read.
“Valverde is at home in good condition and will have to remain at rest for 10 to 14 days, as indicated by the medical protocols for this diagnosis.”
The club have also opened disciplinary proceedings against the two players, with Valverde set to miss Sunday’s El Classcio.
