Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler has taken to social media after defeat at Bayern Munich last night.

There was little reaction from the Real players after their controversial Champions League elimination at the Allianz Arena.

Guler struck twice on the night as Real won 4-3, with the Turkey midfielder being sent off after fulltime for protesting against the match officials over Edouardo Camavinga's red card.

Taking to social media, Guler posted: “This shouldn’t have happened. We’re so sorry. We’ll be back. Hala Madrid!”

The quarterfinal exit means Real Madrid are facing a second consecutive season without winning a major trophy.
