A hamstring injury has Yamal's season and World Cup hopes in the balance.

The teen will be out for Saturday's clash with Getafe and Bordalas said: "I always want the best players available, but aside from being a coach, I'm a fan.

"But this has happened to all of us; you always have players out. Barça is one of the best in Europe, they're leading by a large margin over second place, they're a fantastic team, and they're playing at a very high level if we want to get a good result."

Bordalas also said: "I didn’t think anything special. Whenever a player gets injured, I feel bad, whether they’re from my team or another. I played football and I know what it’s like.

"Unfortunately, I had to quit football very young, at 17, because of injuries. When Lamine gets injured, it’s a great sadness, especially for him; the player suffers a lot.”
