As he approaches his 41st birthday, Cazorla revealed to France Football that local Spanish law prevented him from turning out for Oviedo without a salary.

He said: "I wanted to play for free, but the law prohibits it. I've had a successful career at all levels; I shouldn't be a burden.
"If I came back, it was to help."
It's understood Cazorla is on minimum LaLiga wage for a senior player at Oviedo with a salary of €91,000.
