With Real 3-2 up on the night, the France midfielder was shown a second yellow card for blocking a quick Bayern free-kick. Bayern would then stage a late fight-back to win 4-3 on the night and knock Real Madrid out of the Champions League 6-4 on aggregate.
The decision to send off Camavinga infuriated Real Madrid, with player protests at the final whistle leading to Arda Guler also being shown a red card.
Camavinga posted last night: "I take responsibility. I want to apologise to my teammates and the fans.
"Thank you for your support. Hala Madrid, always."
In the post-match media conference, Real coach Alvaro Arbeloa said: "You can't send off a player for something like that.
"The referee didn't even know he had a card and he ruined a very beautiful, very evenly matched tie, a real battle, and that's how the game ended."
