Laporta is battling Victor Font at the ballot box in March, with the race shook by claims from former Barca coach Xavi.
Xavi insists Laporta was determined to force out Messi when the Argentine left Barca. No matter the validity of Xavi's claims, Messi, now of Inter Miami, has let it be known he has no time for Laporta.
He said this morning on Radio Cope: "Am I afraid that Messi or his father (Jorge) will speak these days? No, not at all.
"I'm convinced that Jorge Messi would say the same as me, because the conversation was what it was, unless they change their story.
"But I don't think they'll change their story because Jorge and I have always understood each other. What we also don't want is to divert attention from what matters to Barça fans, because now they're electing the president and the board of directors, and in this context, Xavi's comments contribute absolutely nothing.
"Did he steal any votes from me? The ballot boxes will tell."
