Barcelona are reportedly considering returning Marcus Rashford to Manchester United as doubts about the forward’s 'mental and physical' capabilities emerge.

The 27-year-old joined the La Liga champions from Man United on an initial loan with an option to buy for a reported £30 million early in the summer transfer window.

Rashford has featured in all of Barcelona’s three opening league games, starting one and coming off the bench for the other two.

According to El Nacional, Barcelona have already warned him he needs to improve ‘mentally and physically’ if he wants to get more minutes.

The report adds that the club were initially impressed by his performances in training and pre-season but had expected him to make an immediate impact once the season officially began.

As a result, Barcelona are now considering sending Rashford back to Old Trafford, and will have to pay Man United €5 million to cancel the deal.

Sporting Director Deco and Chairman Joan Laporta were understood to be unconvinced about the deal to begin with, but Hansi Flick pushed for it to happen, convinced he can help Rashford get back to his best.
