Atletico Madrid took to social media to 'laugh' at Real Madrid following their shock €150 million bid for striker Julian Alvarez.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez made the vague promise to bid €150 million for a mystery player ahead of the club’s elections.

Perez has since won, and the mystery player turned out to be Atletico’s Alvarez, 26, despite reports it would be Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise.

Real Madrid released a statement confirmed that rivals Atletico had turned down the bid, to which they have now responded.

Taking to X, formally known as Twitter, Atletico released their very own four-point ‘official statement.’

They then added: P.S. Taking advantage of the good relationship with your new president, let's see if you stop "stealing" players from our Academy. Thanks a lot, Real Madrid."
