Liverpool boss Arne Slot confirmed the club expect Alisson to be sidelined until “towards the end of the season” as he claimed another injury set back.

"He will not be part of the PSG game either, (he is) out for a bit longer. Towards the end of the season we expect him to be fit."

The Brazilian international picked up an injury last month, but exact nature of the injury has not been revealed by the club as he recovers behind the scenes.

Now, after Slot spoke in his press conference ahead of the FA Cup clash with Manchester City, Alisson has revealed it is not a fresh injury and when he should return.

“I didn't suffer a new injury.

“I'm in the treatment phase, and the plan is to be in full playing condition by the end of April!”

Second choice Giorgi Mamardashvili should step in for Alisson until the end of the month when he returns. The Georgian was impressive in the loss to Brighton before the international break and supporters will be happy to see more of their summer signing.

Mamardashvili has kept only two clean sheets in his 12 starts so far and Freddie Woodman, a 29-year-old with four games of Premier League experience also steps up as Mamardashvili’s backup if Liverpool suffer yet another injury.
