Four months after breaking his leg against Tottenham in December, Alexander Isak is finally nearing a return to action in what is excellent news for Liverpool fans who are eager to see him get back to his best.

The 26-year-old made just16 appearances and scored three goals for the Reds before his injury against Tottenham as fellow summer signing Hugo Ekitike stepped up in his place.

Now, the club have released pictures of the squad for their first training session after the international break including the likes of Florian Wirtz, Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Isak who are all smiles.

The Premier League’s most expensive player will be aiming to work his way back into the first team in the coming weeks but is unlikely to feature against City this weekend.

However, reports claim he could be back and ready to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League in what is a huge boost for Slot who will be able to rotate both Ekitike and Isak for the first time this year.
