Following his British-record £125M deadline day move from Newcastle United, Alexander Isak has been burdened by injury which has limited his first season with The Reds.
However, the Swedish star is set to return over the coming week which only raises issues once more as to how he will fit in the side alongside both Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike who also signed last summer.
Speaking to BOYLE Sports, Aldridge believes that it could be difficult and Liverpool may have made a mistake in signing so many top talents.
“When Isak and Ekitike both signed, we thought that Isak was going to take the mantle and Ekitike would come in every now and then
“It has backfired on Liverpool because it's made it more difficult. As a manager, you've got to look at a way of utilising them all together, or you can swap and change and have a little break here.
“Does Slot play Wirtz on the right wing and Ekitke behind, or Ekitke on the left wing and Wirtz behind Isak? He's not going to do it this year when Isak comes back, but in pre-season, you're going to have to look at some options.
“It's something that they've got to think about, because you've got to play your best players.”
Isak is on course to return to training this week and could be placed on the bench to face Manchester City in the FA Cup.
Manager Arne Slot has a lot to think about with so many top talents now fit at the end of the season which may cause him major headaches.
