Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has been pictured in Madrid alongside teammates Joao Pedro and Marc Cucurella.

The Chelsea midfielder controversially revealed he would be open to a move to the Bernabeu earlier this month by saying:

"I'd like to live in Spain, I really like Madrid; it reminds me of Buenos Aires," he told Avirales YouTube channel. "Players live where they want, I'd live in Madrid.

"I get by in English, but I'd be more comfortable in Spanish."

Fernandez was handed a two match suspension by then manager Liam Rosenior as the club made their frustration known to the midfielder who was clearly flirting with Spanish giants Real Madrid

Rosenior said of the decision to drop Fernandez: “We think a line was crossed. It's not ideal. A lot of it stemmed from a really difficult ten days, probably the most difficult ten days of my career.

“As a person and player, I have the utmost respect for Enzo Fernandez.”

The Chelsea squad have been given time off following their 1-0 FA Cup semi‑final win over Leeds United last weekend and Fernandez believed it to be appropriate to travel to the Spanish capital with Joao Pedro and Marc Cucurella

As Fernandez exited a car in Madrid, Real fans were heard shouting "Thank you, we're waiting for you next season” and "Enzo come to Madrid please, we need you.."

The trio were reportedly in Madrid to see Francisco Cerundolo taking on Alexander Blockx in the ATP singles but Fernandez simply being in Madrid amongst rival fans has clearly fuelled tensions even further.
