A new central midfielder is on the agenda, and Sporx have revealed that Villa want to sign Galatasaray metronome Gabriel Sara, and an offer has been made.
The Turkish giants are willing to sell the Brazilian for around £25 million, although journalist Evren Göz thinks Galatasaray are "expecting" Youri Tielemans in return.
"Galatasaray might have expectations for Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa! He’s a player Galatasaray has wanted for years,” Göz explained.
“However, the Belgian footballer has previously stated that he doesn’t want to play in Türkiye. Will the circumstances change? We’ll see!”
Tielemans previously rejected a move to Turkey and has instead become an icon at Villa Park since joining on a free transfer from Leicester City in 2023.
The Belgian international most recently scored a wonderful volley to break the deadlock in their 3-0 triumph over Freiburg in the Europa League final. So, it's highly unlikely Villa will agree to this swap deal, even if Sara produced 11 goal involvements from midfield this season.
