Sanchez and Gibbs-White were both forcibly substituted after a clash of heads at Stamford Bridge, leaving the Forest star with a huge scar on his face which needed stitches after the game.

The midfielder posted an image displaying extensive stitching stretching from his forehead down to his nose after the clash which left him far worse than the Chelsea keeper who sent him a message at the final whistle.

He said: “Seen that you came out worse than me, hope you are ok big man.”

Gibbs-White also shared a picture of his scar with a thumbs up, saying: "Thanks for the messages, what a win congrats T @awoniyi18," he wrote, directing praise towards striker Taiwo Awoniyi who scored twice on the night scored twice on the night.

Meanwhile, with a massive Europa League semi-final against Aston Villa looming on Thursday, Forest boss Vitor Pereira revealed he is confident that Gibbs-White could still be available.

“No, no. I think not. I had a conversation with him; he is speaking normally, and he remembers everything.

“The only thing is to look for the face and the pain. Gibbs White has a deep cut, but he is a fighter; he has a strong mentality. I hope our medical department can do magic to put him in condition because he is important for us, a very important player for us.”

Standard Sport also report that Sanchez will still have to undergo checks at certain intervals in the coming days as Chelsea follow FA “return to play guidelines” as he becomes a doubt to face Liverpool.
