Gibbs-White suffered a horrific facial injury during Forest's impressive 3-1 victory over Chelsea on Monday during a collision with goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
Vitor Pereira's playmaker was instantly bandaged up and needed several stitches for the wound, sharing a gruesome image on social media after the game.
Unfortunately, this incident has put the 26-year-old in major doubt of featuring against Aston Villa on Thursday night, with Pereira sharing an update in his press conference.
"We'll see. We'll see tomorrow, if he's able to play or not. It is not a question for me, it's a decision between the player and medical department," the Portuguese boss said.
"We will have a last meeting to decide. We have a plan with him and without him."
Gibbs-White has been arguably one of the Premier League's best attacking midfielders this term, scoring 16 goals in all competitions and providing seven assists.
Hopefully, the Englishman is able to play as Forest aim to build on their 1-0 lead on aggregrate at Villa Park, though his involvement does seem unlikely at this stage.
