Heart of Midlothian have confirmed the appointment of Belgian coach Wouter Vrancken as their new head coach on a two-year contract.

The 47-year-old arrives at Tynecastle after an impressive spell with Sint-Truiden, where he transformed the club from relegation contenders into Europa League qualifiers.

A two-time Belgian Manager of the Year, Vrancken previously enjoyed successful spells with Mechelen, guiding them to the Belgian second-tier title and an historic Belgian Cup triumph, before leading Genk to Conference League qualification.

Hearts fought off interest from several European clubs to secure Vrancken’s signature as they prepare for a crucial campaign featuring Champions League qualifiers and domestic ambitions.

The Scottish Premiership side believes his attacking philosophy and proven track record make him the ideal man to lead the club into a new era.
