English Football League has confirmed that the disciplinary hearing involving Southampton will take place by Tuesday, May 19, as concerns grow over its potential impact on the Championship play-off final against Hull City at Wembley.

The case centres on allegations that a Saints staff member secretly filmed Middlesbrough training sessions.

The EFL admitted the situation could create “exceptional circumstances” depending on the commission’s verdict. Possible sanctions reportedly range from heavy fines to points deductions or even disqualification.

With the final scheduled for May 23, the league is pushing for a swift resolution to allow time for appeals if necessary.

Ticket sales are continuing, but supporters have been warned to carefully review booking conditions before making travel arrangements, as contingency plans remain under consideration.
