Mykhailo Mudryk has lodged an appeal over his doping ban after the FA banned him for 4 years.

The Blues winger was initially banned by the FA in December 2024 following a failed drugs test and has not played a competitive match since November 2024 in the UEFA Conference League.

Mudryk arrived at Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023 in a deal worth up to £89M and after 73 appearances, the winger has netted 10 goals and laid on 11 assists.

Now, as per Ben Jacobs, the 25-year-old has been handed a 4-year ban which he will appeal immediately.

“More on Mykhailo Mudryk exclusive. The FA has banned the Chelsea winger for four years for an anti-doping offence, the maximum punishment.

“Mudryk went to CAS, filing documents on 25th February, 2026.

“CAS confirm the Ukrainian is now appealing against the "imposed period of ineligibility of four years" adding that the parties are "currently exchanging written submissions, and a hearing is yet to be scheduled."

“Chelsea have declined to comment.”

After the ban was placed on the winger, Chelsea launched their own internal investigation and has not allowed him to train with the team since the initial suspension.

Mudryk has maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings and hired Morgan Sports Law to represent him, the firm who represented Paul Pogba during his doping ban. He has also trained behind the scenes to keep his fitness up. However, unless his appeal works, he could be on the sidelines for a number of years to come.
