Wrexham are preparing for their first ever campaign in the Championship this season after climbing up the football pyramid in dramatic fashion. Signing Coady would be another major statement of intent from the side who are pushing for a place in the Premier League in what would be a dream come true for the club.
Now, as reported by the BBC and transfer expert Pete O'Rourke, Coady has passed his medical today in what has been a fast moving deal this week. The 32-year-old only has 12 months left on his current deal and Leicester are keen to cash in on the defender who would have to take a wage cut if he stayed with the Foxes.
Coady played 22 times for City in the English Premier League last season who finished 18th in the table, 13 points away from safety. Wrexham will be bringing in a defender who has extensive top-flight experience having played for Liverpool, Wolves, Everton and Leicester in the Premier League.
Wrexham are determined to be aggressive in the transfer market ahead of what will be a very tough season and Coady is exactly the type of signing they need to not only stay in the Championship but also push out of it either this season or the next.
