Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly keen on keeping Manchester United loanee Harry Amass for the rest of the season.

The 18-year-old is on a season-long loan at the Championship club, who are on -9 points after they were stripped of a total of 18 points for going into administration earlier this season.

Amass was one piece of business that Wednesday managed to do in the summer and he is said to be a silver lining in what has been a horror campaign so far for the club.

Now, The Sun report that Amass’s agent was at United’s Carrington training complex this week for discussions about the left back’s future and that Wednesday remain hopeful that Amass' loan from United can be further extended until the end of this season.

Amass, whose contract does not expire until 2027, has started all 15 Championship fixtures that he's been available for as he excels in the left wing-back role under manager Henrik Pedersen. The youngster made seven appearances for United last season, making four starts in the Premier League under manager Ruben Amorim.

The teenager scored his first professional goal last month during a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Southampton, and reports state that the club are confident that he can be kept despite their high chances of relegation.
