Bord now favourite to buy Sheffield Wednesday

The former professional poker player has been chosen by the club's adminstrators for a period of exclusivity, reports BBC Sport.

Wednesday have been in administration since October after 10 years being under the ownership of Dejphon Chansiri.

Bord is now head of data company Short Circuit which uses Artifical Intelligence to assess sports data. 

Bord's company, Park Bench SFC LLC, holds stakes in Spain's Cordoba and Bulgaria's Septemvri Sofia. He has also been co-owner of Dunfermline Athletic for almost 12 months.

Bord is part of a consortium which has made their offer for Wednesday.
