Yoane Wissa is not training with the Brentford squad this week as he informs the club that he desires to leave this summer.

After registering totals of 12 and 19 goals in the Premier League across the last two seasons, Wissa is hoping to move on to better things this summer as he sets his sights on a club that can offer him Champions League football next season.

The BBC report that the 28-year-old arrived at training on time before meeting manager Keith Andrews and sporting director Phil Giles to express his preference to continue training alone which will not come as a shock to management as his desire to leave has been reported for a number of weeks. 

Now, as reported by journalist Fabrizo Romano, the Congo international he is hoping to leave the Bees as he eyes a move to Newcastle under manager Eddie Howe

“Yoane Wissa has informed again today Brentford management about his desire to leave the club. 

“He doesn’t want to return to training, insisting to leave and get Champions League opportunity. 

“Newcastle remain in active talks with Wissa while they also work on Šeško deal.” 

Wissa has been the subject of interest from a number of clubs this summer including Nottingham Forest but it is clear that he wants Champions League football and Forest cannot offer that. Meanwhile Newcastle can and Howe will be hoping that negotiations move smoothly for the forward who is in a similar position to current striker Alexander Isak who is training alone ahead of his move to Liverpool
