Liverpool legend Daniel Sturridge and Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola have praised teenager Estevao.

Estevao scored a brilliant solo effort in Chelsea's Champions League win over Barcelona on Tuesday in what was a statement victory for the Blues who tore the La Liga champions apart.

Zola says Estevao is mature beyond his years

The 18-year-old has quickly become a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge, and rightly so as he leads the Chelsea attack with confidence and bravado.

Speaking to Amazon Prime Sport, Zola praised the young Brazilian who officially arrived from Palmeiras during the summer in a transfer worth £29M.

"It was very good, very mature as well. He played like somebody much older than his age. What I like about him is when there is a possibility to try to do something difficult, he does it.

"There is a great quality and he can only improve. Today he scored a fantastic goal and every time I see him, I see something new in him. This is a great attitude for a player like him."

Sturridge was also quick to praise the teenager, who is only the third teenager after Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé to score in each of his first three Champions League starts.

"The anticipation and expectation was that it was going to be Yamal's night and it would be all about him. You see Estavao tonight and it was absolutely brilliant.

"He was tenacious, he was decisive in the moments he needed to be. Calmed the game down when he needed to calm it down. Very professional and experienced performance from him and it is just the beginning.

"Just the start of an amazing career we hope to see and we hope Chelsea have a superstar on their hands because he was absolutely amazing tonight."
