Turpin has been in charge of huge clashes such as the 2021 Europa League final and 2022 Champions League final during his career so far but will now take charge of the England clash on Wednesday night.
The 44-year-old took charge of seven UEFA Champions League fixtures during the 2025/26 season, including the quarter-final second leg between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
After the clash, Barcelona lodged a complaint with UEFA over the standard of officiating across both legs, alleging "several refereeing decisions were made that did not comply with the Laws of the Game.”
What gets worse is that Turpin sent Tuchel to the stands after showing him two yellow cards in Bayern’s Champions League quarter-final defeat by Manchester City in April 2023.
After the game, Tuchel ripped into Turpin who he deemed to be usless which will only worry England fans heading into tomorrow’s clash.
“I’d give him a 1/10. He was absolutely terrible. It’s unbelievable at this level.
“He was whistling for everything and anything. Everything was against us. In the end, we were never in a position to turn things around with three men against us. That’s a fact.”
Turpin will be assisted by Nicolas Danos and Benjamin Pagès whilst Mexico's Katia Garcia will serve as fourth official in what should be an interesting for the pair.
