The Hungary international netted a stunning free-kick to down the Gunners at Anfield back in August in what is only one of two losses for league leaders Arsenal this season.
Despite the win, Liverpool are currently 14 points behind Arsenal in the Premier League standings and have zero chance at winning the title as the Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester City storm ahead.
However, speaking to Sky Sports, Szoboszlai has backed his side even if odds predict that Arsenal are in for an easy win.
The midfielder says it is Arsenal who are facing the champions and that they have a long way to go before they lift the trophy.
"It's a long way (to go). The Premier League is not easy. You don't win it by January.
"So I don't think we are playing against the champions. They're playing against the champions. And that's probably (something) they know as well, we know as well.
"Of course they are one of the favourites for this year - unbelievable team, really good players. But we shouldn't also forget about Man City, about Villa, who are doing very good.
"No, we don't play against the champions. They play against the champions."
Arsenal currently sit six points clear of their nearest challengers and could extend their gap on the Reds to 17 points with a victory. The North London side have not won the league in over two decades and it is now down to them to bypass Liverpool and to go all the way and lift the title.
