Several players including Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori all missed training ahead of the Champions League second leg against Sporting CP.
This led to worries about the Arsenal squad who must defend their 1-0 lead from the first leg as they welcome Sporting to the Emirates.
Is Rice available?
Ahead of the clash, Arteta spoke openly about the potential injuries Arsenal may be facing as they attempt to book their place in the Semi Final against either Atletico Madrid or Barcelona.
Declan Rice captained Arsenal and played the full 90 minutes in Saturday's 2-1 loss to Bournemouth and Arteta first suggested that he could miss this week’s clash.
"We have to wait until tomorrow morning to see how a few of the boys are and make the right decision with them," the Spaniard said, before being asked for the exact nature of Rice's issue.
"I don't want to do that, obviously he wasn't available to train," Arteta added. "He's played a lot of games and that's part of the issue, but he's going to do everything he can to be with us tomorrow."
Saka returns?
When asked about Bukayo Sake, Arteta responded by implying that at least one of them could return to face Sporting.
"Maybe one of them (will be back), let's see.
Speaking more on Saka, the Spaniard revealed more details on his injury:
“It was something he was carrying for a while, it was an Achilles issue. No (setback), there is progression, will hopefully be a matter of days, not weeks."
With Rice potentially out, Arteta may turn to a midfield made of Eberechi Eze, Christian Norgaard and Myles Lewis-Skelly as Martin Odegaard or Martin Zubimendi are both lacking fitness.
