Arsenal stand alone at the summit of the 36-team rankings, and manager Mikel Arteta and his side have already assured themselves of a playoff place after a perfect start to their European campaign.
The Gunners have never won their opening six games of a Champions League season in their history as they come up against Brugge who will be hoping to secure a shock result.
A shock result could be on the cards however as Declan Rice, Leandro Trossard and William Saliba were all absent from Arsenal's open training session on Monday afternoon.
The Mirror report that Rice and Trossard were training inside, rather than with the rest of the squad, whilst Saliba has now missed Arsenal's last three matches and is a doubt for Wednesday night.
Arsenal’s defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend exposed tired legs and mental weariness as the football calendar intensifies. Arteta’s side must rotate against Brugge and rest players for their clash against Wolves at the weekend, and the trio who missed training are likely being protected.
With rotation on the cards, Arteta’s side could lose their status as leaders with defeat in Belgium, which would end their perfect streak.
Saliba’s usual defensive partner, Gabriel, is also sidelined with an injury and Arteta will have to rely on Piero Hincapié, who is the only natural centre back available to Arteta.
