Trent Alexander-Arnold has revealed that he thinks Real Madrid's Fede Valverde is vastly underrated.

The Real Madrid midfielder bagged the first hat trick of his career on Wednesday night as he slammed home 3 first half goals against Manchester City in the Champions League.

Valverde, who captained Real on the night, stunned Pep Guardiola’s side who must now overturn a 3 goal deficit at the Etihad next week.

His teammate, Alexander-Arnold was in high praise of the Uruguayan after the game and claimed that he should be more widely acknowledged for his ability in the side.

“I sang his praises a few weeks ago, but again, running out of words to describe him. He’s the most underrated footballer on the planet, and has been for years, but even before I came here, I always admired his game, because there’s no flaw in him.

Valverde scored as many goals in the first half against City as he had in 75 appearances in the Champions League prior to Wednesday night's match as he led by example under Alvara Arbeloa

The defeat in Spain leaves City with a mountain to climb in next week's second-leg where Guardiola must somehow find a way back against the 15 time champions.
