What have you made of Nigeria's form at AFCON so far?

Nigeria has been in a very good form. I think Super Eagles have been doing very well. The players have done very well so far, starting from the first game, and they kept improving match by match, and this last game was a statement of fact that the team is becoming more formidable. I hope they continue like that in the end.

What have you made of Eric Chelle's tactics and selections?

I think so far, Eric Chelle is beginning to understand the players very well. The way he has changed the formation, the tactical changes he has made has been very positive for the team and for the players also.

I think Chelle now  understands the players and their strong points, that is why the team is giving their best now at AFCON.

Are there any changes you'd like Chelle to make for the quarterfinal?

Well, I don't think there's supposed to be any change except if there are injuries. I think the players that played so far have done so well, I believe that anybody that is brought in or injured or whatever is supposed to be changed, and I believe that any player that is brought in is going to do well as well.

What about facing Algeria on Saturday - do you think Nigeria go into the quarterfinal favourites?

Nigeria has done well, and looking at it, I don't think there's any favourite at this moment. Algeria is a very, very good team, and they are playing very well, too.

So, I just want the Super Eagles to continue playing the way they've been playing and not losing their composure, but making use of their opportunities to score goals any time they have because Algeria is not going to be an easy task in the quarter final definitely.

I don't want to say that Nigeria is my favourite because Algeria is a big team too, the Super Eagles have to take it gradually and step by step and not lose concentration throughout the game.

Where do you think Nigeria are superior to Algeria? How will they win?

I think the potential that Nigeria has is a very good one. The attack is very sharp, midfield is compact and the defence is solid to some extent.

The team is good and look very strong and the players have shown this over the four matches they've played and I think Nigeria just have to make use of  opportunities in the attack and control the midfield.

The attack of Nigeria is capable of eliminating the Algerians.

Do Nigeria have the best attack in the tournament?

Based on what we've seen and the goals that Nigerians have scored, there is no doubt that the attack is very deadly. I would not say Nigeria have the best attack because the competition is still going but we have very good attackers.

Nigeria also have very good players in the midfield and have shown it with number of goals scored so far. To score 12 goals in four games is not easy, an average of three goals in every game is very good.

I believe that there are still goals to be scored. So, lets see how it goes.

Who has been your standout player for Nigeria so far?

Stand out? I think every one of them has done so well. They have proved themselves, and they have been fantastic all this while and talking about standout, I wouldn't say one player because all of them have done well both in the attack and the midfield and in the defensive side, but picking an individual player, I think Ademola Lookman has been very good.

I mean giving assists and even in scoring goals himself and I think Alex iwobi in the midfield has been outstanding and talking about Frank Onyeka and (Wilfred) Ndidi, I think all of them have done very well.

In Victor Osimhen are we seeing the development of potentially the greatest African striker to play the game?

In Osimhen, I think we have a great player, great striker, and very ambitious striker and one who still has many years to cover in African football.

But talking about potentially the greatest African striker, I think he is one of the best. We have had so many great strikers in Africa and I think he will be in the league of those great players.

But I won't be able to say only him but definitely he is in the league of great African strikers like Rashidi Yekini, Samuel Eto'o, Didier Drogba, Abedi Pele that we have had in Africa.

Can Nigeria win AFCON and who do you see them facing in the final?

Yes, of course, Nigeria is among the contenders to win the AFCON tournament in Morocco.  I believe the Super Eagles have the capacity and what it takes to win it.

Nigeria got to the final in the last AFCON and this current edition, Nigeria have the potential to get to the final. Which team Nigeria is going to meet, I can't say because there are many strong teams, we have Cote d'ivoire that defeated the team in the last final,  we have Senegal which is a strong team and Algeria, plus Morocco the host nation.

It's very difficult for now to say who is going to win, my hope is for Nigeria to win the AFCON and facing which team in the final, I don't know,  I just want Nigeria to win.
