Liverpool sweating on FIFA ruling over Salah release date to Egypt

Liverpool could lose Mohamed Salah as early as this week to Egypt's Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

AFCON kicks off on December 21 and will run to January 18.

And Egypt's tournament preparations kickoff this Wednesday with a training camp. Their first friendly will be held on December 10 against Nigeria.

For their part, Liverpool are waiting on FIFA's final decision on when players must be released for the tournament.

There is hope inside Anfield that Salah will not leave until after the December 13 Premier League clash with Brighton.

However, FIFA is expected to mandate player release two weeks prior to the tournament, which would be this Sunday.
