Danny Rohl's departure from Rangers has been confirmed by "mutual agreement" as he joins RB Salzburg.

Rohl joined the Gers last October and was tasked with transforming their campaign after Russell Martin's short and disastrous tenure in charge.

The 37-year-old won 22 of his 40 matches (over 50 per cent) in charge, but that wasn't enough for Rangers to secure silverware, as they came third in the Scottish Premiership behind Celtic and Hearts.

Several supporters were unsurprisingly calling for his head after losing four of their final five matches, and now they've got their wish, with Derek McInnes set to take over at Ibrox.

McInnes, who almost led Hearts to their first Scottish title since 1960 before suffering final-day heartbreak against Celtic, will now be announced as Rangers' new manager following Rohl's exit.

RB Salzburg have confirmed that the German tactician has signed a three-year contract with the Austrian giants, who finished third last season.

Rohl will now aim to do what Daniel Beichler failed to achieve by winning the league title in 2026/27, after two second-place finishes and one third-place finish in their last three campaigns.
