And United management are prepared to sacrifice Kobbie Mainoo, while allowing Casemiro to come off contract, to fund the deal.
Mainoo could be shifted out to Napoli on-loan in January with an option to buy. The deal would be enough to make room for United to go for Wharton next summer.
