Following an opening goalless draw with DR Congo, the Manchester United captain stressed the importance of the talisman rediscovering his scoring touch.

Speaking after the match, he said it was pleasing to see Ronaldo respond to recent scrutiny and get back among the goals.
"It was important for our captain to score. It was important for us that he scored. He's our go-to player in attack. We're very happy for him," he told media.
"It's always special to get an assist with the national team, especially at the World Cup, which is a special tournament."
