Born in Rome on November 28, 1977, Grosso began his coaching career in 2013 in the Juventus youth ranks. He made his debut as a head coach in 2017 with Bari, in Serie B.
Throughout his career, he has managed teams such as Lyon, Frosinone, and Sassuolo. The former Italian international has achieved two promotions from Serie B to Serie A and arrives in Florence after leading Sassuolo to 11th place in the Italian league, in the season marking their return to the top flight.
