The all-encompassing left-back has emerged as a top target for Atletico Madrid ahead of the transfer window, with Barcelona also keeping an eye on developments.
According to Friday's edition of AS, Atletico believe that Chelsea's failure to qualify for European football could increase their chances of landing the Spaniard.
Blues supporters would have surely felt worried about that prospect, especially since he was one of their best players last season, but now the possibility of him sealing an immediate exit has been erased.
In an interview with El Partidazo de Cope, Cucurella revealed that he's "very happy" at Chelsea and hasn't even thought about leaving Stamford Bridge.
“Right now, I don’t want to talk about that. I’m very happy at Chelsea, but I haven’t wanted to know anything about it for a while,” he said.
“I want to enjoy this because it could be my first and last time here (at a World Cup), I want to enjoy this and that’s it.”
Clearly, the 27-year-old is fully focused on Spain's upcoming assault for World Cup glory and adding a second star to their shirt. They kick off their campaign with a clash against Cape Verde on June 15.
