Ex-Bayern Munich chief Renske sets record straight on Pep rejecting De Bruyne

Former Bayern Munich sports chief Michael Renske has denied the claims of Fernandinho about Kevin de Bruyne.

Former Manchester City captain Fernandinho claimed on the 'Denilson Show' that Pep Guardiola turned down De Bruyne while Bayern coach when the Belgian was available from VfL Wolfsburg.

Fernandino stated: “'No, no, no, I don't want him. I don't think he's a good fit for our team'.

"The guy (Guardiola) knew he was going to City, so he sent De Bruyne there."

But Renske has since responded, stating: “That's complete nonsense. It is true that we have dealt with the transfer of Kevin de Bruyne. In the end, this was not feasible for economic reasons. Pep Guardiola was not involved in this decision at all."
