Victory over Liverpool was an obvious highlight.

But Dyche also said: There have been important moments, but they are not highlights as you would see. The Burnley one is an important moment because we hadn't won. I designed an ugly win and we got an ugly win, so that is weirdly pleasing - when you design it and it happens - because we needed a win. That was it. So that was a different kind of good moment for me as a manager. The run after the initial points loss - I thought we were excellent against Manchester United and it was a head scratcher we didn't get something from that, then we won four on the trot.

"That was a little clutch of games that was important at that time to change the storyline. Unfortunately, we didn't keep it going but that was very important. A weird highlight as a manager was Tottenham away. We lost but I thought we were terrific, absolutely terrific, so that is about management when you have got to see through the result. It is a results industry but that is when you go 'that is a sign', a sign we were playing proper football. That was really good. That was a personal highlight.

But of course, when you bring it all together and look at the enormity of the game, the game against Liverpool is bound to be a highlight. Differently for me - I don't understand the depth of it and I spoke openly about that before the games with Liverpool. But to do it at Everton, for the first time in 14 years or however long it was, and to back up a really important game (the win over Nottingham Forest), and then go again on the Saturday (the win over Brentford). That was a massive, massive week to bring it all together."
