Curacao, with a population of just 158,000, became the smallest nation to ever participate at a World Cup this summer.
They haven’t been handed an easy group as they face the Ivory Coast, Ecuador, and, of course, Germany in their first game of the tournament.
Germany took the lead after just six minutes thanks to a lovely strike from Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, and it was starting to look like it would be a long evening for Dick Advocaat’s boys.
Curacao didn’t give up, though, and they managed to restore parity through Livano Comenencia, via a heavy deflection from Joshua Kimmich.
It’s the first goal Curacao have EVER scored at a World Cup.
