The Bayern Munich star had initially retired from international football following Euro 2024 but returned to the national team after being persuaded by head coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Neuer famously helped Germany win the 2014 World Cup, defeating Argentina in the final, and also claimed the Golden Glove award.
He now tops the all-time goalkeeper appearance list ahead of Lloris, Sepp Maier and Claudio Taffarel.
