Reports this week suggested Thomas Tuchel’s side would be able to use Viagra to help combat the effects of altitude in Mexico City, which sits more than 2,000 metres above sea level.
The medication expands blood vessels in the lungs, preventing an enzyme from constricting them, which proves vital at elevated altitudes.
Tuchel has stated over the past week that it will be impossible for England to adapt to the high altitude in time after travelling from their Kansas City base.
The media claimed that England were considering the medication in what seemed like a bizarre tactic ahead of their clash with Mexico were many believe the Three Lions will be easily exhausted.
In his press conference, Tuchel responded to such rumours with a laugh and revealed that the squad had not even considered taking the pill.
He said: "The information and the support didn't reach me. That is not true."
Former Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson made a light-hearted quip when discussing how they've been managing the high altitude:
"Well, the Viagra helps... I'm joking, it's a joke."
The thin atmosphere in Mexico City and low concentration of oxygen make it harder to pump oxygen around the body and maintain stamina, meaning England will be at a severe disadvantage heading into the game where many pundits have already claimed they are underdogs.
