The Hard Rock Stadium in Miami will host Norway's World Cup quarter-final clash with England on Saturday night that may be delayed by storms.

The Three Lions overcame co-hosts Mexico 3-2 in the last round in what was a huge upset whilst the Scandinavians picked up a 2-1 upset against Brazil as the two sides enter the clash in fine form.

England’s clash against Mexico was delayed by an hour in getting underway due to extreme weather as lightning and heavy rain hit the capital, with the game starting at 2am UK time.

The BBC currently has the clash being pleasant with a sunny outlook and a gentle breeze at kick-off, but with thundery showers forecast at around 2pm.

The Mirror report that the game will be played at 33C and there is the threat of a thunderstorm although, but it is not due to hit when England play Norway at 6pm local time which is good news for players and fans hoping to watch it on time.

Miami Stadium has a large open-air canopy that was installed during renovations back in 2016, rather than a fully enclosed retractable roof.

US policy states that any match must be delayed or suspended if lightning is detected within an eight-mile radius of the stadium, something that right now has a low chance of happening.

England and Norway will meet for the first time since a friendly fixture in 2013, when the Three Lions secured a 1-0 victory. Thomas Tuchel’s side will be aiming for a similar result this weekend.
