Argentina call up Marcos Senesi to replace injured Leonardo Balerdi

Balerdi, 27, was forced to withdraw from Argentina’s World Cup squad as they seek to win back-to-back World Cup’s due to a calf injury.

Argentina have now confirmed that Senesi has been picked as the man to come in and replace the injured Marseille defender.

It’s been quite a week for the 29-year-old who recently secured a move to Tottenham after leaving Bournemouth as a free agent.

The now Tottenham centre back has just three caps for his national team.
