Fernandez, 35, best known for playing fictional soccer star Dani Rojas in the television series "Ted Lasso" signed for USL side El Paso Locomotive two months ago.

A forward like his character, Fernandez came on in the 79th minute of El Paso's USL Cup match against New Mexico United on Saturday night.
Wearing the number 91 shirt, he didn’t manage to score, but he did pick up a yellow card as El Paso lost 2-0.
Fernandez does have a history with the beautiful game beyond playing Rojas, he was a talented youngster having spent time in the youth ranks of former Liga MX side Tecos.
Injuries throughout his twenties ultimately ended his dream of playing at the top level.
