De Bruyne, having recently returned from a long-term hamstring injury, says he won't be retiring from the national team after this summer's World Cup.
He said from Belgium's USA camp, "I'm getting into a better rhythm, I've already played more than I thought I would. I've been training with the team for four weeks and I feel good.
"I don't think I'll play two full nineties on this on this tour, but that's not necessary. I don't plan on leaving the national team after the World Cup: as long as I feel good, I'll keep going."
De Bruyne was also asked about Romelu Lukaku's clash with Napoli management this week.
He said, "There's always a lot of noise in Naples, everything gets amplified.
"I don't know the details, but it's clear that Romelu's situation is complicated. He's injured and hasn't been at his best. I hope Romelu returns as soon as possible."
