Lukaku has been joined by former Chelsea teammate Kevin de Bruyne this summer, while he enters a second season with Napoli and coach Antonio Conte.
The Belgium international told La Gazzetta dello Sport of Conte: "We have the same mentality: only through hard work do you improve. He has a footballing vision that suits my characteristics, and when I'm at home, I try to learn the playing concepts he wants.
"Our relationship has always worked, because he gives me the motivation every day to always try to be the best. My footballing father? Yes, as were Roberto Martinez in Belgium, Koeman at Everton, and Ariel Jacobs at Anderlecht. They are the ones who changed my life."
Asked about his influence on De Bruyne's decision to join Napoli, Lukaku added: "Very little. Just two very simple calls. I explained to him what it means to play here, that we're a team that wants to improve and confirm our position for next year.
"It will be a big challenge, but he likes challenges."
