Maresca is back home in Italy this week after receiving a coaching award over the weekend.
The Italian spoke at Coverciano following the Panchina d'Oro ceremony, telling reporters: "It's an honour.
"First of all, to be recognized here at Coverciano, then to succeed coaches like (Carlo) Ancelotti and (Gian Piero) Gasperini, and above all to represent the Italian school abroad, which is always a pleasure."
Asked about working in Serie A, Maresca continued: "I didn't say I won't return to Italy. I simply said that I've been living abroad for many years and am still abroad right now. We'll see what happens in the future.
"I think the coaches here in Italy, whether Italian or foreign, are interesting coaches from whom you can always learn something. There are good coaches in every country these days."
