AC Milan chiefs push Modric to open new contract talks

Now 40, Modric joined Milan on a 12-month deal over the summer from Real Madrid. The aim was to play regular football before next summer's World Cup campaign with Croatia.

Milan chiefs are pushing Modric and his agents to kickoff talks over a new deal.

But for his part, Modric is happy to wait until later in the season to see how he feels before making a playing decision beyond the World Cup.
